Pet CT and Ultrasound
In computerized tomography (CT scan), X-rays are used to produce the image. However, unlike a typical radiograph, which only uses one x-ray, a CT scan combines several x-rays taken from various angles and uses cutting-edge computer technology to provide more accurate patient images. When a bodily portion is seen from different perspectives, it is simpler to see more detail in that area. CT scans are beneficial for spotting tiny cancers and internal bleeding because they pick up many of the same things essential x-rays do but more thoroughly and accurately.
Ultrasonography is a well-liked diagnostic imaging technique that uses sound waves to view your dog or cat’s body. The best use of ultrasound exams is to diagnose diseases that a standard x-ray scan would overlook or that are difficult to identify. This can include tumors of the abdominal organs, bladder stones, and free abdominal fluid (as in the case of a bleeding tumor).
